How do you brew?

Tips for getting the most out of this coffee, by method.

Drip / Pour-over
1:17 ratio (e.g. 30g coffee : 510g water) · Medium grind · 195–205°F water · 3–4 min total brew. Bloom for 30 sec with 2x coffee weight in water before pouring the rest.
French press
1:15 ratio · Coarse grind · 195°F water · Steep 4 minutes · Plunge slow and even. Pour off immediately — leftover grounds in the press over-extract.
Espresso
18g in / 36g out · Fine grind · 25–30 sec extraction · 200°F. Dial in grind first — finer = slower extraction.
Cold brew
1:8 ratio · Coarse grind · Steep at room temperature 12–18 hours · Strain through fine mesh or paper filter. Concentrate — dilute 1:1 with water or milk to serve.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions about this coffee.

What is the shelf life of your coffee?
Unopened, in our original bags with the one-way freshness valve, our coffee has a best-by date of 18 months from the roast date. Once opened, plan to use ground coffee within 2–3 weeks and whole bean within 4–8 weeks for peak flavor — though it remains safe to drink well beyond that.
Should I buy whole bean or ground coffee?
Whole bean delivers better freshness and flavor — beans don't start oxidizing until they're ground. If you have a grinder, whole bean is the way to go. If you don't, ground coffee is convenient and stays fresh in the sealed bag for several weeks. We sell both formats for every flavor in this lineup.
Do you offer subscriptions?
Yes — and you save 10% off every order with a subscription. You can subscribe to any product on the site, choose your delivery frequency (every 7, 14, 21, 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 days), and skip, pause, or cancel anytime from your account. Need a custom interval (say, every 37 days)? Email us — we can set that up on the back end.
How much caffeine is in Breakfast Blend compared to other roasts?
Caffeine content is largely driven by the bean origin and brewing method, not the roast level. There's a common myth that lighter roasts have more caffeine, but the difference is small. If you want a stronger caffeine kick, increase your dose (more grounds per cup) — that makes a much bigger difference than roast level.
