How do you brew?

Tips for getting the most out of this coffee, by method.

Brewing this coffee

Steep one pack in cold water overnight, then remove the pack and dilute to taste. Serve over ice, with milk, or as a cold brew concentrate depending on how strong you like it.

Recommended for this coffee
Cold Brew
Drip / Pour-over
1:17 ratio (e.g. 30g coffee : 510g water) · Medium grind · 195–205°F water · 3–4 min total brew. Bloom for 30 sec with 2x coffee weight in water before pouring the rest.
French press
1:15 ratio · Coarse grind · 195°F water · Steep 4 minutes · Plunge slow and even. Pour off immediately — leftover grounds in the press over-extract.
Espresso
18g in / 36g out · Fine grind · 25–30 sec extraction · 200°F. Dial in grind first — finer = slower extraction.
Cold brew
1:8 ratio · Coarse grind · Steep at room temperature 12–18 hours · Strain through fine mesh or paper filter. Concentrate — dilute 1:1 with water or milk to serve.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common questions about this coffee.

How do I use the Organic Cold Brew Packs?
Drop a pack into water (about 3 to 4 cups per pack), refrigerate, and steep 12 to 18 hours, then remove the pack — no grinding, measuring, or straining. Drink over ice or dilute to taste.
What does the cold brew taste like?
Smooth, bold, and naturally sweet with very low acidity — a clean, rich, easy-drinking glass. Made from USDA Organic, 100% Arabica dark-roast coffee.
How much caffeine is in the cold brew?
Cold brew tends to be strong — typically around 100 to 200 mg per 8 oz, depending on steep time and dilution. Caffeine varies naturally with brewing method, serving size, and preparation.
Do the packs need to be refrigerated while steeping?
We recommend steeping in the fridge for the cleanest, smoothest result. Room-temperature steeping is faster but can taste harsher, so cold and slow is best.
What is the shelf life of your coffee?
Unopened, in our original bags with the one-way freshness valve, our coffee has a best-by date of 18 months from the roast date. Once opened, plan to use ground coffee within 2-3 weeks and whole bean within 4-8 weeks for peak flavor, though it remains safe to drink well beyond that.
Should I buy whole bean or ground coffee?
Whole bean delivers better freshness and flavor, beans don't start oxidizing until they're ground. If you have a grinder, whole bean is the way to go. If you don't, ground coffee is convenient and stays fresh in the sealed bag for several weeks. We sell both formats for every flavor in this lineup.
